London Marathon VIP Opening Reception
The Challenge
Delivering a VIP reception ahead of the London Marathon required effective management of internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring every element was planned and delivered to the required standard.
My Role
As Event Lead, I had overall responsibility for delivering the reception. I briefed and managed the internal marketing, design and administration teams, monitored progress and reported back to senior management. I also led on venue and supplier management, speakers, catering and every other aspect of the event, overseeing delivery from planning through to completion.
The Outcome
A professionally managed VIP reception, delivered through effective team management, supplier coordination and clear accountability from planning through to delivery.

Launching a US Brand into the UK and Europe
The Challenge
Launching a product into unfamiliar markets requires more than simply booking exhibition space. The client needed a clear plan for entering the UK and European markets, making the most of its exhibition investment while navigating the practical challenges of working overseas.
My Role
I worked closely with the client to understand its objectives, requirements and budgets, developing a plan that identified target markets and used exhibitions as the primary route to market, supported by complementary marketing activity.
I designed the exhibition stands and project managed their delivery, providing on-the-ground support throughout the programme. This extended beyond the exhibitions themselves to a concierge-level service, offering local knowledge and practical guidance on everything from hotels, restaurants and transport to making the most of time spent in Europe. I also provided reporting to give the client visibility of progress and delivery.
The Outcome
A coordinated approach to market entry, combining targeted exhibition activity, supporting marketing and end-to-end project management. The client had a single point of contact to guide them through the process, providing local expertise, practical support and peace of mind while establishing its presence in the UK and European markets.
Overhaul of a Flagship Event
The Challenge
For more than a decade, this flagship event had been the 'must-attend' conference in its sector. But a format that had once been successful was in danger of becoming irrelevant. The challenge was to modernise the event, evolve with delegate and sponsor expectations, and protect its position as the industry leader.
My Role
I led a programme of modernisation, rethinking how the event engaged with delegates and sponsors, and how the team worked behind the scenes. This included improvements to the delegate journey and experience, overhauling sponsorship packages to make them more relevant and targeted, and introducing more efficient ways of working.
The Outcome
The changes increased delegate numbers and strengthened engagement with sponsors, while reducing the team's workload. By modernising the event and its supporting processes, we helped keep an established industry flagship relevant and competitive.
